We are thrilled to have launched a new partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust to plant new trees in the Yorkshire Dales through the sales of paper, card and other papercrafting materials in our craft recycling shop. The launch sees the planting of 300 new trees this year, with a further 400 planned over the next two years.

“As a business, we’re really excited to combine our local environmental and community work with our long-term passion for trees, by creating our own Cone Exchange Wood,” says Chris Powell, our Community Champion who runs the project. “We’re thrilled that the money raised will be used to create a project that our volunteers and customers can visit to see first-hand the impact these trees will have,”he continues.

“Through our ‘Together for Trees’ campaign we’re working with supporters and partners such as the Cone Exchange to plant 100,000 additional trees across the region, which are hugely valuable as a habitat for wildlife and support some of our most endangered woodland animals,” explains Carol Douglas, Woodland Officer at YDMT.

The Trust have supported the planting of 30,000 trees since the appeal was launched last summer and they are well on the way to reaching thier campaign target of 100,000 over the next two years.

“We’re really grateful to the Cone Exchange and all the volunteers and customers for their support in helping to restore native woodland to the Yorkshire Dales,” says Michael Devlin, Development Manager at YDMT. “We look forward to seeing the partnership develop in the future.”
